Seed Farm Shop is based on Rectory Farm, a 250 acre working arable farm in Worlington, near Newmarket in Suffolk. Owned by the Summers family since 1943, the land is farmed by third generation farmer Sam and his son Frank, helped by his father Allen. The farm's main crops are potatoes and onions, alongside a variety of cereal crops as well as new energy crop miscanthus, which is used for biomass and animal bedding.

Seed is the brainchild of 21 year old Frank, who alongside working with Sam on the farm, has run his own plant growing business, Summers Market Garden, since 2019. Encouraged by its success, Frank's idea of turning an old agricultural building into a farm shop and nursery has been a year in the making. A family affair, Seed is run by Frank together with parents Sam and Lucie and younger brother Arthur during the university holidays.

The shop is proud to sell a carefully selected range of locally sourced food and drink products, including meat from TFM Butchers, eggs from Manor Farm, and delicious sourdough bread and pastries from Bury St Edmunds baker The Friendly Loaf. As a textile designer/maker, Lucie is excited to supply the shop with a small array of screen printed home goods using environmentally friendly inks.

Seed is thrilled to be able to offer specialist artisan coffee from master roaster Butterworth & Son, also based in Bury.

We look forward to welcoming you to Seed!
